Force of Nature
I made it up to the second
level of the staircase,
at least a step further
than I passed by yesterday
where I sunk inside of the
sofa and my thoughts were
congealed together as if
they were made into a puree
I’d picture a dove outside of the window,
I’d see myself as one flying away
that would be until I’m captured
and eaten by the birds of prey
When will the time be for me to transform
into a butterfly out of my cocoon?
Is it too late to bloom or am I
wanting to change too soon?
it’s the start of October and the
leaves are beginning to fall
I’m being bitten by mosquitos,
they make a bold statement
though they appear to be small
like my words, they've been
festering into an outraged riot
hopelessly wanting to unravel
the heartstrings and to untie it
I ran across the sand as my
nerves felt the heated sensation,
the rest of my body was stone
cold from lamentation
a force of nature can put
you under sedation by
keeping you grounded or
enlightening your mentation
flushed across my nose, I smiled so big
that I noticed the dimple on my cheek
there's only one that indents on the left
side of my face and I think it's pretty neat
it's just like those seashells in the ocean,
each one of them distinct and unique
I desperately want to go back and sunbathe
as the supernatural is surrounding me
until then, I’ll
take my umbrella,
my roses, and my fairy
to a place where I feel safe because
it’s my body that I will forever carry
and if I choose to give these
gifts to another soul,
I’ll analyze whether they have a
heart of dark coal or of fine gold,
not to anyone that will encase my
heart like the rest they've stole
and keep it on display to go
unattended while they
watch it slowly decompose
