Candy Store
every corner of this city has a candy store, when
you walk in there’s wrappers covering the floor
“Too much sugar will rot your teeth,” the doctor
is telling him, “ You can’t eat anymore sweets.”
he doesn’t listen and keeps finding
ways to satisfy his addiction
circus peanuts and black licorice,
you have to keep this secret between us
please try to be more considerate whether
it’s for your wellness or for your health,
you can’t eat anymore candy,
you need to get some help
pack up your things and
stay out of the hotels
there’s sugar bugs eating into your cavities,
your spouse tried to love you unconditionally,
but you’ve broken her and lost all trust
while she once loved candy, now when
she tastes it, she finds it to be a disgust
