Peppermint
peppermint has an
absence of sweetness
she likes the burn
as it dissolves and
reminds her of
her incompleteness,
peppermint candies
are her weakness,
although the sugar
gives her nightmares,
so lately she’s
been sleepless
she likes them because they
often give them away for free
they’re also
the cheapest
it could be because her
name is peppermint,
and her body is
cold to the touch
she has a natural
frostbite-like flush
she eats so many
at once and to her,
there’s no such
thing as too much
they cause cavities in her
teeth because of the crunch,
but she likes the way the
spice adds an extra little punch
peppermint is
forever desperate
she tosses back more mints as
she's passing through the exit
some say she makes
a lasting impression,
but other's think that the
peppermints are an obsession
she doesn't care
about them though,
because the mints always
make her feel freshened
