Desert Rose
moving mountains
and shining lights
desert roses and
bitten snakebites
hiding in the dark
for over a decade
going into real life
has made me afraid
there’s movement in the city
while the desert stands still
it’s like an old
western movie,
there’s time to write
letters with a quill
dipping the feather into ink, the
only thing there is to do is think
you’re curious
and observant,
creating art to trade
with the merchants
and all you hear is the sound of a cello,
as it undertones the world away
everybody here wants to be different,
but they’re all exactly the same
then there’s you,
desert rose
authentically you, no one
you’re trying to impose
healing by
your presence
water and sand is what
makes up your essence
protection,
prosperity,
and purity
I know you don’t like to be
misunderstood for obscurity,
but you know how to
carry your energy
so keep your wind
blowing westerly
