Stitched Lips
lightly choking,
lovingly doted
stitched lips make the harder
words come out softly spoken
you've sewn up my
lips by a stitch and
treated me as I was
your porcelain doll,
you've since backed away so
that you wouldn't have to feel
burdensome when you leave
me to break and alone I fall
Isn't it easier to feel too much
instead of being numb to it all?
glossy coated,
sugar smoking
I've heard that stitched
lips make the tartness
of these tragedies
taste candy coated
I heard a voice say, "The
operation is complete."
I woke up in a daze, painfully
swollen, and I couldn't breathe
you've since stitched
up my broken wings
patched the wounds
in my heartstrings
and called the surgery
a bloody success
no amount of sedatives
will help me to forget,
there's nothing strong enough in
existence to cut through this thread
