Soul Story

I went looking for the hidden

place that collected souls

once I found it, I asked to 

find one with a heart of gold

the keeper found one that met 

my needs and gave me the secret 

you’ll have a hard time letting go, but you 

need respect, loyalty, and love to keep it

this soul was the most 

beautiful one I’ve seen

spoke with heart and 

the eyes shined of green

I fell in love instantly and promised 

there’d never be a day we won’t be

as we embarked on the path, 

we saw many new and magical things

we stuck together, trying to keep our 

souls protected through everything

our soul’s recognition to each other 

felt real and purer than anything

as we treaded through the difficult times, 

there were two broken souls inside

the blue soul lifted me up by my 

wings and encouraged us to fly,

the pink soul stayed strong and 

kept trying to heal it with time

the pink soul gave the blue soul 

all she could provide, 

her thoughtfulness and kind gestures,

until one day, our colors would collide

she doesn’t understand why the

devotion she gave to get back home 

was a treacherous fight, 

the road she took 

stopped at a dead end

and she stayed up all night

heartbroken, the soul she adopted as 

her own, fell short of their consequence

building on top of shattered gravel 

will only cause greater imbalance

never did I harm the golden 

heart of this blue soul,

stayed true to the loyal trust I 

promised to give, and it left me cold

the illusions of the blue 

soul that I loved dearly

did not match with the feelings 

I had and were not reality

Could I have only been 

living in my own fantasy?

If this was all a bad dream,

can I wake up next you heavenly?

this is our soul story

you're blue, I'm pink, and

we turned into shades of purple

I gave the soul 

endless forgiveness,

and it is so hurtful,

how I gave it all to you,

and we couldn't find a 

way out of the moment

lost, confused, and 

holding onto hope,

for now I'll be silent
