Candyland
the name
is Sweetie
sweet and sour
like a kiwi
once you get a
taste of sugar,
the little bits and
pieces you'll devour
with a peppermint smile
and sweetened feelings,
I sprinkled stardust
into the room and
lived my candy
land fantasy
I picked off
gumdrops
from the top of
crystal candy rocks
I chewed through
bubblegum
until the muscles in my
mouth became numb
I bought all of the
boxes of sweethearts
and gave them to people
who knew street smarts
with a secret message
on each of the treats,
your tongue will be blistered
once you've had enough to eat,
I'm getting tired of being
stepped on all the time,
but that's what I get
for being too sweet
for all of the ingredients that
fall into my sugary confection

taken advantage
of for letting you have
