Just Thinking

I asked the night 

sky if I could catch

the brightest star 

just to use its energy 

to send my rocket ship 

into a world somewhere far

I listened to the beat of my heart 

and let it pound like a bass picking 

the deepest string 

and brought it up to 

the highest note 

until my ears would ring

yet still, there’s a meaning 

of hope I have yet to unfold,

this wise idea in my mind

has been alive for so long 

that it’s getting old,

but I will keep holding on 

if that turns this story 

into another chapter,

a life so full of grief and 

overwhelmed with thoughts 

of what could happen in the after, 

this beautiful and complicated philosophy,

answers to the unknown 

are in astrology, and although

that may be hard to believe,

try your best to manifest positivity
