The Creative
If I broke both my hands,
I’d put a paintbrush
between my teeth
to paint a picture
If I couldn’t stop shaking,
I’d use a pen between
my toes to write
a scripture
If I become blind,
I’ll use my ears to hear
the sounds and play
a lovely melody
If I become deaf,
I’ll use my eyes
to capture a photograph
of nature’s beauty
If I can’t make
beautiful things,
then what
good am I?
If I can’t make
beautiful things,
then how will I be
remembered when I die?
even if I can no longer
make beautiful things,
I will trust there’s
still a reason to try
that just because I can't
make beautiful things,
there's more answers
I'll be compelled to find
I know that I can’t take
this life for granted,
I've been given
seeds and it's my
responsibility to plant
and care for them
so if I can't make
beautiful things,
you best believe
I'll find a way
to make a beautiful
life for myself,
no matter
what it takes
I will always feel
the urge to create
